DTN COMMENTS:
The cash cattle market is quiet at Monday's start as both bids and asking
prices have yet to surface. Last week Southern live cattle traded at $228,
which is $7.00 lower than the previous week's weighted average. Northern
dressed cattle traded at $365, which is $5.00 lower than the previous week's
weighed average. But at Friday's close the market's movement in the cash sector
had been thin, making it imperative to note the midmorning report which states
exactly how many cattle traded in last week's market. That could indicate how
aggressive packers intend to be in the cash market this upcoming week.

NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to email DTN with any cattle sales at
ShayLe.Stewart@dtn.com. All sales will be listed anonymously and organized by
state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A weekly summary
from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales Reported to DTN page
and will be left up for the entire week for reference purposes.
